Day 31....blogging is harddddddd

Day 31...Blogging is hardddddd.....

We did it!!!! We made it through the 31 Days of Blogging challenge!!!! Gigantic shout out to Faith, Allie & Juliette for hosting this amazing challenge. Seriously guys, this month has been so much fun and there have been so many great topics!! With all of that said, blogging is definitely not all relaxing and good times...It is hard!! For the final day in the challenge, I am going to tell you about all of the reasons why blogging is hard work.

It takes time---it is rare that I will spend less than 30 minutes writing a blog post. Sure, I could knock out a few of my favorite things in 5 minutes, but then I have to add the links, the pics, the GIFs...the whole sha-bang. The average time it takes to write a post is about 45 minutes...multiply that by 31 and I have spent AT LEAST 1,395 minutes blogging this month. That breaks down to a little over 23 hours...wtf!!!!

Some of the topics are really challenging...I can easily come up with one thing that makes me go hmmm, but thinking of 5 or 10 things? That's a whole different story. Suddenly 45 minutes turns into an hour and a half, most of which is spent racking my brain for something that made me wonder why.

You get seriously sidetracked. Try looking on Pinterest for something...anything at all. Suddenly what started as a recipe for chicken turns into a dog in a chicken costume, which of course leads you to google "pets in costumes," and you eventually end up on some crazy ass page about the strangest pregnancy photo shoots. Trust me, no matter how focused you are, you will ALWAYS end up sidetracked.

It is a huge commitment. Skipping a day or 2 here and there is ok, but what happens when you go out to dinner on the 3rd day, have a cold the 4th and 5th day and then decide to watch a movie on the 6th day? Suddenly it has been a week since your last post, people have lost interest and you have no idea what's going on in the blog world. Blogging is a huge commitment. And I don't even have kids!! Kudos to all you mommy bloggers out there!!

If you have a boring week, you have zero to write about. Sure, this month was a piece of cake when it came to what I should write about. But guess what? The month is over, and now I have nothing to talk about. I've pretty much spilled every favorite, everything I love, what I do when I am alone and some things that I can't live without. Now what?? Let's hope that there are some fun happenings over the next month!

Well ladies, this challenge has been wonderful. I have enjoyed getting to know all of you and hopefully I was able to keep you semi-entertained. I am looking forward to taking a day (or maybe a few days) off from the blogging world. That is, of course, after tomorrow's VLOG Accent Challenge!! Make sure you tune in to find out what I really sound like! :)

Day 10...my favorite things about summer...

Day 10...my favorite things about summer...

Happy Thursday and welcome to Day 10 of the 31 day challenge!! If I haven't said it yet, thank you Faith, Allie & Juliette for introducing me to this challenge!!! We are a third of the way there and so far it has been awesome!! Today I am going to share with you my favorite things about summer. This list was super hard to narrow down because I honestly love everything about summer…except for the mosquitoes…and the smelly armpits…and the swamp ass…but seriously, other than that, I would be happy if it were summer all year long!

My favorite things about summer are.....

*Baking in the sun until my pale vampire skin turns golden brown…or stop sign red*

*Being in the pool…especially when it involves lazily floating around for hours*

*Playing washers…if you’ve never played before, you are missing out*

*Wearing maxi dresses & maxi skirts without freezing my tush off*

*Bar-b-ques…hosting them, attending them, smelling them from my neighbor’s yard…yum*

*Drinking fruity frozen drinks…ok if I’m being honest I enjoy that all year long…sue me*

*Going to the beach…and I just so happen to live 20 minutes from one of the most beautiful beaches in the USA…seriously, be jealous*

*Going on vacation…less than 2 months until our cruise!!!!!!!*

*Just being outside…swimming, sitting in the garage, enjoying a campfire, taking sneak attack selfies while the hubs is on the phone…pretty much anything*

*Eating juicy de-lish watermelon…omg I love when it’s in season!*

What about for all of you lovely ladies that are not taking part in the challenge? What are your favorite things about summer?!

<3 Oh sweet summer, how I will miss you when you're gone... <3

Day 3...Getting Uncomfortable in 2014

Day 3...Getting uncomfortable in 2014

Welcome to Day 3 of the "Blog every day in July" challenge!!!

Today I am going to talk about what I have done this year that was outside of my comfort zone. It is a pretty obvious choice, and it involves everyone reading this today. The answer? Blogging! I started blogging back in January of this year, and over the past few months, I feel like I have gone so far beyond my comfort zone! (See my first post ever here!) I have always enjoyed writing, but blogging has allowed me to share my writing with so many people! Blogging gives me the ability to open up about anything that is going on in my life and share it with the world. I can open up a new page and vent for 30 minutes, or jump on and share a quick outfit—whatever I am feeling on that particular day. I can give advice and tips and share some of my favorite recipes!! The topics are endless and the community seems to stretch to all the ends of the Earth! Blogging has gone from “Something I wish I had the time and skill for” to “I can’t believe I waited so long to do this!!”

Aside from the writing aspect, blogging has opened my eyes to so many other things! Before January, Instagram was a social media network that I had clicked on once or twice, scanned through and just kept on browsing. Pinterest was completely foreign to me, and I had never even heard of Google + or Bloglovin’! I would browse aimlessly through others' blogs, comment on a post here and there and be on my way. Being a member of the blogging community has opened my eyes to what is really out there, and I have met some GREAT people along the way!! It is amazing how many people you can touch by spilling your heart about a particular subject or leaving a simple comment. And the best part? I realized that I am not the only one out there who has been trying to get pregnant for years, I am not the only one who loves to mix stripes with polka dots and floral print, and I am not the only one who feels like a Sunday Twilight marathon is the best thing in the world!

Thank you all for making this transition out of my comfort zone a smooth one! I am really looking forward to what the next 6 months has in store for me and can't wait to share it all with you!! Come back tomorrow to see what I love most about America and then again on the 13th to find out the one thing I couldn't live without!

Day 2-Guilty Pleasures

Day 2-Guilty Pleasures

Welcome to my list of life's indulgences! I tend to go a bit overboard when it comes to guilty pleasures, but what the hell, right?! We are only around for so long, so why not make the best of it! I probably have like 25,000 guilty pleasures, but for the sake of keeping your attention I will shorten the list just a little bit.

 *Caramel Greek Yogurt*
I'm obessed

*Taco Bell*
I feel like 3 is an acceptable amount of times to eat this in one week...right?

*America's Next Top Model*
If only I were 10 inches taller...and didn't eat Taco Bell 3 times a week

*Shopping*
Rue21 will be the death of my bank account

*High Heels*
The higher the better!

*The Twilight series*
<3 Team Edward all the way <3

*Doughnut Holes*
I seriously will eat like 20 in a row without thinking twice

*Eating cereal in bed while watching Friends*
This usually occurs around 11:30 pm...can't imagine why I have nightmares?!

*Strawberry Banana Daiquiris*
They are de-lish!

*Taking the hottest shower you could ever imagine, and then scratching my back until the skin is literally scraping off*
The hubby HATES it!

*Domino's thin crust pepperoni & bacon pizza*
Yum

*Jersey Shore*
It is SUCH a train wreck and I love it so much! Thursday nights just aren't the same*

*Watching airplanes*
I could sit and watch them all day long

*Having my hair brushed*
It's pretty bad when you try to bribe your 7 year old nephew with $5 to brush your hair..luckily I have the best hubby EVER who does it for free :)

Wanna know what I have done to climb out of my comfort zone this year?? Tune in tomorrow!!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!!

Day 1...Blog every day in July!!

Day 1...Blog every day in July!!

This is my first ever blog challenge, and I am super excited!! (ok to be honest I am ridiculously nervous...31 blogs in 31 days?!?! Talk about crazy!) As a way to explore new topics I decided to jump on board with Allie, Faith and Juliette and take part in the challenge. I am going to try my best to stick with it for the whole month, but if I drop out after 2 weeks don't hold it against me!

So without further ado, let's get to today's topic---Canada Day! Since I am from the U.S.of A. and don't know much about the big land mass to our north, I decided that today was a great day to educate myself!! Here are a few fun facts about Canada that I didn't know until right now:

-Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories
-Ocean Falls, British Columbia has an average of 330 days of rain per year
-Dog food is tax deductible in Canada
-The US buys more oil from Canada than any other country
-Canada has a glow in the dark 25 cent coin...seriously, how cool is that?
-Free healthcare--enough said
-Famous celebs from Canada: Avril Lavigne, Rachel McAdams, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Alex Trebek, Jim Carey

Tune in tomorrow for some of my guilty pleasures, and then check back Sunday for a list of things that I would NEVER do!!!

Happy Canada Day!!
